To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Zog book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, this UK 50p was issued. The reverse design by Emma Noble features the lovable dragon Zog learning to fly in all his clumsy, courageous glory, a design based on an original illustration from the book. This is the 4th UK coin to celebrate a Julia Donaldson character, following the extremely popular 2019 The Gruffalo 50ps and the 2024 The Gruffalo’s Child 50p.
